Upload a video

Open Videos and select Upload. Editors can also open the modal from an empty library or with ?upload=1.

Upload a local file

  1. Click Choose file and select one file accepted by your browser as video/*.
  2. Review the title, which defaults to the filename without its extension.
  3. Select Upload and keep the modal open while progress is shown.

AtomicPlayer creates the video record, then uploads with the resumable TUS protocol. Temporary failures are retried. A successful upload adds the video to the library with Processing status; the library polls until it is ready.

To copy from Panda Video, Wistia, Vimeo, or a public MP4 URL, use Import. See Import videos. HLS import, drag-and-drop, and cloud-drive pickers are not present in the current production modal.

Next steps

Open the ready video to customize the player, manage captions and dubs, or copy the embed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I close the modal during upload?

The close and cancel controls are disabled while the record is being created or bytes are uploading. Wait for success or an error.

Why does the video say Processing?

The upload has finished, but the media pipeline is still preparing playback. The library refreshes this status automatically.
