Smart Progress

Smart Progress adjusts how the progress bar feels: the bar can move faster early and slow later, which reduces the psychological length of long VSLs. In Customize → Progress you may also choose modes such as real, hidden, or fake progress depending on the panel.

Enable or adjust​

  1. Open Videos and click your video.
  2. Open Customize → Progress (or Smart Progress in the section list).
  3. Pick the mode and options shown, then select Save.
  4. Select Publish to this video. Existing embeds use the stable player ID and do not need to be recopied.

When to use it​

  • Long explanations where early retention is critical.
  • Offer reveals after minute three—keeps viewers mentally on track.

Ethics and compliance​

Use Smart Progress as UX pacing, not deception about actual runtime. Regulated advertisers should run legal review.

Frequently asked questions​

Does it cut the video shorter?

No. It changes indicator behavior, not duration.

Will it break accessibility?

Screen readers still reflect real timeline events; test with your accessibility consultant if you have WCAG obligations.
